Tadao Ando - Japanese Architect and Carpenter

His aesthetic is a sensitive minimalism. An interaction of pure geometries, authentic materials embedded in the genius loci. Spaces of silence, which change their virtue by deliberate (natural) lighting.

My collection reflects this kind of aesthetic. Reduced, abstract forms on slender silhouettes. Minimized cut geometries with references to the Japanese and Western tradition. An interaction of several layers with cutouts at the confining layers and necessary slits. A play with the boundaries of inside and outside; the demarcations of every single piece of garment. An authentic mix of materials; cotton, wool, silk and leather in monochromatic colors.
